The Youth Rail Enthusiasts Association has a dedicated team of people working with us to ensure the website is kept updated, the forums are well moderated, and events and competitions are successful. We’re always looking for ways we can improve the YREA so let us know if you have any ideas, all staff will listen to your feedback.

Chris Jeffery is the YREA’s founding Manager and lives in Bexhill. People often said to him they didn’t get a fair chance in competitions because adults tended to take over and that’s why Chris started the YREA. Chris’ job is to oversee the running of the YREA and undertake website maintenance, as well as dealing with advertising contracts, shop suppliers, the press and organising events. Its also his job to look after the other staff. Chris’ forum username is ‘Chris’.

Mark Heaton is the YREA’s Head of Forums, and you can find him there under the username ‘Meridian Mark’. Mark lives in Chesterfield and its his job to ensure that the forums are well moderated and maintained to a high standard. He also spends time researching new and exciting features for the Manager and ensuring that forum rules are kept relevant. He also helps the rest of the team to organise events and ensures they’re well publicised on the forums and social media channels.

Michael Eckersley is the YREA’s Head of Submissions. Its his job to sort through the photographs and articles we get sent to use on our website and take, organise, edit and upload the pictures from our offline events. With Chris, he also runs the rail-based Photograph of the Fortnight competition on the forums, and processes new high quality desktop wallpapers for our free downloads section. Michael lives in Hailsham in East Sussex, and can be found on the community forums as ‘Michael’.

A number of people have contributed pictures, videos, competition prizes, articles and other content to the YREA and we’d like to say thank you to them all. Contributors who are part of our forums have a blue username so its easy to find them.
