What People Say
We could talk to you all day about the exciting features that the YREA has available, but the best way to tell you about us is to show you what some of our existing members think.

I think the Youth Rail Enthusiasts Association is a great site because everyone who is a member has some sort of interest in railways, and the site has a great community to share the interest with. As well as being able to share my interest in the railways, the YREA holds lots of fun competitions like a Photograph of the Fortnight and an annual Video Fest. The YREA has also helped me meet lots of new people and I have made lots of new friends. The forums are also a great place to not only make friends, but to learn new things that I never knew about the railway industry.

The YREA is a great place to share the experiences of young people interested in the same thing, railways. Without young people getting involved, preservation won’t be around forever, it needs a constant input of fresh blood to continue.

As a young rail enthusiast, finding friends to talk to who share the same interests isn’t easy, seeings that railways are ‘sociably unacceptable’ these days. A friend of mine informed me of a little website called the YREA, and I was amazed to see how many young rail enthusiasts there were. Not only were there a lot of people, but an array of features and pages with useful information such as the community forums. The forums are one of the best bits, and with such a warm and friendly atmosphere, I soon felt welcome.
Chris and the team have done an exceptional amount, putting a lot of time and effort towards the YREA. And if there are any problems or suggestions you have for the staff, Chris is the man. If you’re a youngster wishing to take part in the hobby, then the YREA is THE place to start.

Coming across the YREA, I thought I would register and see how it is. After a few days on the forum I quickly noticed that the forum was very freindly. I like the YREA because all the members are very freindly and I have made a quite a few new friends. There are plenty of competitions that any member can enter.

Before i joined the YREA I had joined a couple of rail forums in order to start out, I knew a select handful of enthusiasts when starting out and due to my disability I find it hard to talk to people and make new friends. Due to the fact that many members were older and never took me seriously, I then set up an account elsewhere where I got to know Chris the YREA’s Manager, I saw the link to his new forum at the time and decided to join. Thanks to the YREA, I’ve felt more comfortable as a rail enthusiast and have made plenty of friends and met new people. It has also allowed me to share my videos and pictures to a wider audience which has improved my confidence significantly.
Chris and the management team are brilliant at what they do and I’m completely sure they will make you feel welcome just like they did with me. They will also help you if any problems happen and will sort it out instantly. If your a starting out young rail enthusiast like I once was, the YREA is certainly your first stop!
